There are currently six highly experienced instructors on staff, offering your choice of PADI, NAUI, SSI, and/or TDI (Technical Diving International) certifications. Open Water Referral
This convenient service requires a minimum of just two, half days to complete, providing the student with the requisite four open water certification dives. Student completes the classroom and pool sessions with their dive shop at home; then finishes the open water training dives with Scuba School Cozumel. A Student Referral Form from the original instructor is required.
Open Water Certification
This comprehensive scuba training course consists of theory, all required waters skills, and open water diving. The course requires a minimum of four days to complete, involving approximately five hours per day. Minimum age is 15 years. Junior Open Water is available for ages 10-14.
Junior Open Water Certification
$425 course / $250.00 referral
The minimum age for Jr. Open Water Certification through PADI is 10 years old. The PADI Open Water Referral course requires two half days to complete and can be booked either morning or afternoon. The price of the course is $ 175.00 US per person and includes equipment and certification fees. A Student Referral Form from the student's original instructor is required as well as the parent's signed consent to participate in the course. After certification, all dives completed by children of 10 & 11 years of age must be made with a parent, guardian or PADI professional (not just any adult) and they are limited to a maximum depth of 40 feet.
Advanced Open Water Certification
The advanced Open Water course consists of five dives, two are required dives (Deep & Navigation) and the other three are elective dives, such as drift, boat, naturalist, night, buoyancy etc. There are no formal exams in this course, the theory for each dive is gone over with the student while they are participating in the dive. This course includes 2 days of 2 tank boat dives, one beach dive, books and certification fees. Student must already be open water certified. Minimum age is 15 years, with Junior Advanced Open Water available for ages 12-14.
Discover Scuba Experience
This introduction to Scuba diving requires just two and 1/2 hours to complete. The student begins by viewing a video and participating in a classroom session. Next they enter into shallow water to practice basic diving skills. Once they feel comfortable, they will continue on to enjoy a beach dive with the instructor over a shallow coral area. A certificate of completion is included.
This is a three-hour course, which reviews dive theory, equipment, and basic dive skills. It includes a beach dive with the instructor. Student must already be a certified open water diver.
Basic Nitrox Training
The basic Nitrox certification course is theory only, includes no diving. It requires 4-6 hours of classroom time. However, if the student wishes to continue with boat diving in the afternoon or the following day, Dive House will provide the first two Nitrox tanks on a complimentary basis.
