As a PADI certified resort, and only a stone's throw away from the Great Astrolabe Reef, Matava offers the perfect environment to scuba dive in Fiji , snorkel, surf , fish, kayak with opportunities to trek, visit native villages, bird watch or simply relax and unwind in this island paradise.
Astrolabe is the world's fourth largest barrier reef and is Fiji's largest living organism. It extends along the entire southern side of Kadavu and stretches for over 120 km. Astrolabe is rated as one of the world's premier diving locations offering a great diversity and spectacle in coral structures and marine life. You can expect a kaleidoscope of colourful corals and wonderful marine life.

Oceanview Bure -- The Oceanview Bures are distributed on the lower hillside across the stream to catch the soothing tradewinds and give you excellent views across the ocean. They are built in traditional thatched Fijian-style, and finely finished with polished mahogany timber floors, large airy louvre windows, queen-size timber four poster beds and private decks. The large louvred windows open onto your private deck with the view across the Pacific Ocean.
To offer great comfort and superb ocean views, the Ocean View Bures are each set on a different level, nestled in the rainforest. Immersed in beautiful tropical gardens and surrounded in lush rainforest the Oceanview Bures are a true haven of serenity within the beauty of Fiji's natural environment. All these newly designed bures have new private facilities and large private decks.
Honeymoon Bure -- The top-end Honeymoon Bures are scattered widely on the hill behind Matava to ensure complete privacy and stunning vistas. They are also constructed in traditional thatched Fijian style and have finely finished with polished mahogany timber floors and large airy louvre windows.
The Honeymoon Bures have king-size timber four poster beds. Expansive full-length picture windows open onto your private deck with views across the sea. Surrounded in beautiful tropical gardens and immersed in lush rainforest the Honeymoon Bures provide a heavenly haven of privacy within the beauty of Fiji's natural environment.
Matava Resort Dive and Vacation Packages -- -- Island Dreams' Matava Resort package includes r/t transfers from Kadavu Airport, seven nights lodging in the room style of your choice, breakfast, lunch, dinner, taxes, and two daily boat dives for five days. Additional benefits include unlimited coffee and tea, and complimentary use of kayaks. Other beverages and incidentals are at the guests additional expense. These prices are per person, in US dollars, based on double occupancy. If you prefer another duration, or single or triple occupany lodging, just give Island Dreams a ring.

![]() International Flights -- Fiji's national carrier, Fiji Airways, offers regular flights between Fiji and 13 major cities including Los Angeles, Honolulu, Toronto, Vancouver, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Christchurch and Tokyo. Fiji's international airport is situated in the town of Nadi, on the Western Coast of Viti Levu. Access to Matava requires a domestic flight to Kadavu Island, followed by car and boat transfer to Matava Resort. Domestic Flight -- Kadavu Island, is serviced by Fiji Link, with regularly scheduled flights from Nadi and Suva, the two major international airports in Fiji. Both Fiji airlines operate daily services with a flight time of approximately forty minutes from Nadi. Domestic Fiji air flights are a grand opportunity to view the majestic islands of Fiji, and see the extensive coral reef systems surrounding them. You may want to have your camera handy for a few aerial photos. Local Transfer on Kadavu Island -- A resort representative will meet you at the Kadavu airport, and will expedite your car and boat transfer to Matava Resort. The car trip to the dock is approximately ten minutes, followed by a scenic 50-minute boat ride to Matava Resort. |
